‘Bésame Mucho’ was written in 1938 by a sixteen-year old, beautiful young Mexican girl named Consuelo Velazquez. The song premiered during World War II.   The song went on to become one of the most popular romantic songs of the 20th century and was performed by The Beatles, and Jimmy Dorsey, for whom it became a million-selling chart topper.
